Quick Start Guide

External 4G/5G antennas enhance wireless performance by improving signal quality, reducing interference, and enabling better network efficiency. For environments where built-in antennas fall short, they provide a practical and reliable solution for achieving stable and high-performance connectivity. Police Service

Upon receiving your Birdfy Bath Pro, refrain from assembling or setting it up outdoors right away. Locate the camera in the package and use the provided USB Type-C cable to charge the camera until it's fully charged.
A solid red light indicator will illuminate during the charging process. The light will turn off once the camera is fully charged.

Most CPEs and routers come with built-in omnidirectional antennas designed for convenience rather than performance. While they work well in strong-signal areas, their limitations become clear in challenging environments such as:

  • Rural or remote locations
  • Indoor installations with thick walls or metal structures
  • Industrial sites with electromagnetic interference
  • Urban areas with congested networks

Built-in antennas receive signals from all directions equally, including noise and interference, which often results in lower signal quality and unstable connections.

  • How External Antennas Improve Signal Quality

External antennas do not increase transmission power. Instead, they improve network performance by enhancing signal quality in several key ways.

1. Directional Signal Focus

High-gain or directional antennas concentrate wireless energy toward the mobile base station rather than spreading it in all directions. This focused reception reduces wasted signal energy and improves the signal-to-interference ratio (SINR).

2. Better Polarization Matching

4G and 5G networks use specific polarization schemes. External antennas are designed to match these polarizations more precisely, allowing the CPE to receive cleaner and more stable signals.

3. Improved Installation Position

External antennas can be installed in higher and more open locations, such as rooftops or windows, avoiding signal blockage caused by walls, glass, and building materials. This advantage becomes especially important for higher-frequency 5G signals.

When a CPE receives a cleaner and stronger-quality signal, the network can automatically use higher modulation and coding schemes. Rather than “boosting” the signal, external antennas enable the network to operate more efficiently.
